40 years of Delico
Experience and the courage to try new things are what has made Delico so successful over the last four decades. The company can now celebrate over 400 products, 80 different suppliers, the successful expansion of its B2B and B2C business, as well as growth in its workforce from 2 to 17 employees.
Expansion of the commodities product range
Delico takes over the operational business of affiliated company Gemperli AG as of 1 January 2017, extending its business activities in the field of commodities, focussing on canned fruit and vegetables, dried fruit and nuts.
Expansion of office premises
Delico continues to grow strongly, acquiring new office space in the neighbouring property at Bahnhofstrasse 6.
Expansion of the fresh products range
Another strategic business area is opened up. Delico launches fresh products for the first time.
Delico is growing
Delico grows: Thanks to the positive and dynamic development of the company, the number of employees rises to eight.
Management handover: Matthias Fürer takes over the leadership of Delico AG from founder Alex K. Fürer
General agency of Kikkoman
Delico becomes the general agent for Kikkoman, the global market leader for soy sauce. In the same year the company develops another strategic business area: non-perishable food (ambient food).
Expansion of the industry product range
Delico extends its range and supplies the Swiss food industry with innovative semi-finished products such as frozen pizza bases and pasta sheets from Italy
Switzerland’s first frozen mini-dessert
With its “Mini Windy’s”, Delico launches the first frozen mini-dessert in Switzerland. An item which remains popular on the market to this day. The product range is continuously expanded with various general agencies for frozen specialities.
Delico is becoming a frozen food specialist
Delico launches frozen apple doughnuts in the Swiss retail trade. The company also starts to import frozen fruit and vegetables on a grand scale from France and Poland for Swiss food producers.
Alex K. Fürer and he's wife Beatrice start Delico AG. Its activities are initially focussed on market studies for international food manufacturers who are planning to enter the Swiss market.
